The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to start on February 7. The tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. A total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament this year. These teams have been divided into four groups containing five teams each. The top two teams from each group will move to the Super 8 stage. These eight teams will be divided into two groups containing four teams each. The top two teams from these groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday, March 8. A total of 55 matches will be played in the tournament. India and Sri Lanka, being the co-hosts, qualified for the World Cup automatically. The top seven teams from the last edition of the tournament also received an entry to the tournament.
Ireland, New Zealand, and Pakistan qualified via ICC rankings. Eight teams earned their spots through regional qualifiers: Canada (Americas), Italy and the Netherlands (Europe), Namibia and Zimbabwe (Africa), and Nepal, Oman, and the UAE (Asia-EAP).
